Have you ever heard of a Tom-girl???

That is what I have. A Tom-girl.
She LOVES being girly while she does boy things.

She wants to make a club house in our tree while wearing a skirt, sandals and bubble gum lip gloss.
She wants the club house to be full of glitter, colorful feathers, hearts and beads.
She has put a lot of time into this tree.
She has recruited many of the neighborhood girls into the designing of her clubhouse.
We came home from the store this evening and there were 2 girls in her tree and I thought she was gonna have a fit.
"That's my tree.... they have no right!!!"
She took off running to get them out of it.
She allows Savannah to help a little. I guess it is a good thing that Nana is a bit of a non-adventurous wallflower.
Happy to be watching from the sidelines.
She would not even attempt to climb the tree.
She will just be the wind beneath Avery's wings!!! ha ha

Avery Grace is all girl....who prides herself on being tough, strong and terribly fast.
She would challenge any boy to a race, arm wrestle or push-up contest.
She prides herself on not crying when she is physically hurt. Yet has shed a tear at the death of a cricket.
She wants to be the fastest at all physical activities.
Yet, she can be terribly sweet and painfully beautiful.
She can be emotionally sensitive. She loves to be loved.
Loves all animals. She will love frogs TO DEATH. (if you know what I mean)
She is a contrast within herself.
She is my Tom-girl.

Deep and VERY random thoughts!!

  • Half of my family has been in their pajamas all day. I am one of them.
  • I have found a gray hair in my eyebrow. (gulp)

  • Is there such a thing as an unbiased journalist anymore? I think they ALL fancy themselves as commentators. Very frustrating.
  • Avery was riding her bike throughout the neighborhood singing, "Don't you wish your girlfriend was HOT like me? Don't you wish your girlfriend was a freak like me?". Brent and I were baffled and looked at each other thinking where the heck did she hear that song? Jackson told us she got it from the movie "Alvin and the chipmunks". Nice. Try to explain to a 6 year old why she can't sing the song from a kids movie.

  • Jackson asked me the other day why I was able to have a diet coke everyday and he wasn't. I told him that I was an adult and had the right to destroy my body in any way I wanted. He liked that and is looking forward to be able to destroy his body too when he turns 18.

  • My mom is coming to visit us over Mother's day weekend!! Yeahhh!!! (my dad will be flying overseas at the time)

  • Did you hear what the actress/comedian Janeane Garofalo said the other day on MSNBC?? She said all of the people who were at the tea parties were only there because they were "hating a black man in the white house" and they were all "tea bagging rednecks" and "racists". I was not at a tea party, but can definitely see why such a thing was done. Congress is out of control with their spending. So, I take offense to her pathetic comments of people she has never even met, much less talked to. So...... I thought I would make some comments about people who I know nothing about.
  1. ALL actresses are the most shallow, ignorant, know nothing prima donnas with a God complex who think the world revolves around them. Apparently they NOW also think they can read the minds and motives of the peons (normal folks like you and me).

  2. Politicians are ALL greedy, power hungry partisans with a God complex who think the world revolves around them. Hmmmm...... Unlike actresses, they don't claim to read minds, they just feel they know what is BEST for the peons. (thanks big brother)

Maybe I should just quit while I am a head. My frustration is making me loopy. I would pray about it, but according to Newsweek, Christianity is dead. Well darn it..... I kinda liked it.But, hey.....if Newsweek says it, it MUST be true. (eye roll)
My money says that Christianity will still be around when Newsweek has a "decline and fall". Maybe I will put a prayer in to my uncool and unpopular God about that.

  • Nana has been known to say when in trouble with siblings, "Don't hurt me, I am only 3!" Hmmm....I guess she might have heard that from me a couple of times!! hee hee

  • We have been in our house for about 2 months now. (No, I am not done unpacking) There are some things I adore about the house, some things not so much. For instance......
LOVE...... 2 dishwashers!!! (better than I dreamed....awesome!) Living on a cul-de-sac, the dog run, our big ole closet, hearing the goats and roosters in the farm next to us! FUN!

NOT SO MUCH........the kid neighbors who walk into the house (with out knocking) and help themselves to our drinks, bathroom lighting (my makeup probably looks like a clown), bedroom lighting (dark), laundry room (crowded), the hardwood floors are VERY hard to keep fuzz free. I have dust bunnies coming out the ying yang. sigh.
Am I the only one that is dreading the new week??
I need a couple of more days. I suppose I am just ready for summer.
Actually, I think it is more about sleeping in. Just being honest.
I am not a morning person. Stay up late, wake up late.
Great for summer....not so much for school year.
I will leave you with photos from the weekend. It was so nice and relaxing!

Jackson found a $10 bill in one of his shorts we unpacked. BONUS!!! Cha-ching!
Is it just me, or does Avery have great guns??
Sweetness.

Poor baby! Caroline is giving Savannah a run for her money on "drama queen" status! LOL
I loves me some Lucy Lu!!!!
My 5th baby!!

3 of my 4 kids are girls. Detangler spray is a staple in our home!

So....this is what we've been up to....

Saturday we went out and bought a rug for our family room.
We LOVE our hardwoods, but needed an anchor for our furniture which kept slipping and sliding everywhere.
I fell in love with this rug and it matched our furnishings perfectly!

I am very happy with how it looks!

Here is the effect of having a big ole puppy.

Not to mention all of the scratches on the back door.

Our doggie door is still closed due to her digging. I can not wait until the day we can open it back up and let her do her business with out us.

Guess who came back in town????
My dad!!!

Sunday morning we woke up to my dad making pancakes for the kids. How cute is that???

Look at the smile on Nana's face!!!! Pancakes AGAIN.... this must be her lucky week!

Caroline likes to check out Lulu's stitches. She loves to tell everyone that Lucy has a boo-boo!

This next photo cracks me up. It is a very poor quality picture, but pretty funny! This was Caroline's expression after looking at Lucy's boo-boo's. She is even pointing to her tummy. LOL

Being the sweet baby girl she is she had to hug Lulu to make her feel better. Awwww....

Yesterday was the big day for Savannah and her front tooth. My dad stayed at home with my Caroline so I could give Nana my undivided attention.

We have an awesome kids dentist in the neighborhood that we love. The kids always have so much fun playing in the waiting room on the tree house slide.

They took us to the back to get Savannah's weight and blood pressure. Her arms are so skinny and she was so squirmy that it took many attempts to finally get her blood pressure.

Then they took us to a room where the doctor came in and gave her some liquid to drink. Savannah did NOT like it, but after a lot of little sips finally finished it off. The medicine was supposed to take 30-45 minutes to take affect. So, they put us in a room with a blanket, a rocking chair, and a movie. I think I loved it more than Savannah. I loved just holding and rocking her with no one else around. Peaceful and sweet.

After about 40 minutes they came and took her away to another room. She was not asleep, just happy and relaxed. I was told that it feels like we would feel after 3 glasses of wine. R-E-L-A-X-E-D!!! LOL
They numbed her gums and gave her some shots. They said she did cry a little with one. Then they pulled it.

The bone around the tooth had deteriorated due to the infection and so it came out very easy.

The dentist gave her a little tooth fairy pillow with her tooth in it. She was so excited!!

Later that afternoon my dad and I took the kiddos out and about town since Brent was working late. Our first stop was to see the new foals down the road.

The kids have been wanting to see them for a couple weeks as we pass the farm every day.
Aren't they sweet????
The littlest one had blue eyes just like it's mom, Rose. (that is what my kids named her a couple of years ago)
Avery Grace said she wants a farm when she grows up with horses, ponies, peacocks and little pigs!!
Then we went and had dinner.
My dad found this silly statue and put the kids on it like they were swinging! They thought that was great.
Next we walked over to a fountain and just let the kids play a little in it. You would never know Savannah had a "procedure" that morning.

We did not let Caroline get out of her stroller due to her "no fear" side. She probably would have jumped in and started swimming! LOL

Avery is also very brave. She got very wet as she tried to STAND in the water. Ugghhh!!!
Guess who visited us last night???
The tooth fairy!!!

She visited Savannah for the first time. Even Avery Grace has never had a visit from her yet. (and she was very jealous)

Savannah was sooooo excited to see what she got.
A dollar!!!!!! Woohoooo!!!
A book. A little barbie.

That tooth fairy is good!!

Savannah has not missed a beat with her tooth.
I admit though, I miss her baby smile.
