Too cute!

I ordered this adorable little dress from It's Poppy Dip last week.
Sallee makes them to help bring her new daughter home from Ethiopia.
They are just darling!

Savannah loved it so much she wanted to sleep in it!!
I might just have to order some more. ;)

Just when you thought it was over....

And finally....the party!

Avery Grace chose to have a party with the "Creature Teacher."
The Creature Teacher comes and brings 6 animals (that Avery chose from a list) to show and tell to her birthday guests.
Avery has been so very excited for this. She would ask me almost every day to look at the creatures she chose on the website.
First up.....the chinchilla!!!

The second softest animal in the world. His name was Spice.

Avery Grace got to sit right next to the Creature Teacher and hold the animals as she talked about them. She was in heaven. She would sit there and check out those animals up and down!

Isn't it cute?

Jackson decided he wants one as a pet and did research on the web.

We had Grandma hold Caroline as she was really too young to sit with the other kids.
She did great! ALL the kids did great.
I thought it was really cool that she let all the kids pet every animal.
After everyone pet Spice, the teacher let Avery put him in his "dry" bath.

He rolled and rolled in that stuff. The kids thought that was hysterical!

Next up?
Avery Grace's favorite!
The hedgehog.
Her name was Dora.
Jackson wants a chinchilla, Avery wants a hedgehog.

It was not too prickly.
It felt more like long dry rice.

The next animal was a sugar glider named Lilo.

They are pretty darn cute! They also make funny little noises that cracked the kids up.

The sugar glider is from Australia.

Next came a hairless guinea pig that was pretty silly looking!

She said they have the face of a Rhino.
Ears of an elephant.

And the tush of a hippo!!
Ha!
That little guinea pig had a big ol' derriere. Too cute!

Next was the parrot!

The kids were hoping he would talk, but he was being shy.

I was so impressed how gentle all the kids were when they pet the animals.

What was the next animal that would make Avery smile like this?

That would be Rocky.....the ball Python!!

When the teacher handed her the snake she did not even pause.
She took it like it was a kitten.
No fear at all.

She let it crawl all over her.
It gave me the creeps.
I did pet it. It felt gross.

Caroline was not afraid either.
She was actually anxious to pet it.

After she finished telling everyone about the animals, the kids got to have their photo made with 2 of the creatures. The hedgehog was a little too hard for everyone to hold so, Avery chose the chinchilla and the parrot.

After the show, the kids had some pizza and juice.

Then Avery got another round of the birthday song!

I wonder what she wished for?
A hedgehog maybe?

She ended her party by opening her gifts.
I am always amazed at how kids all gather around the present opener like she is handing out money.
We had trouble even seeing what she got.
Oh well.
It was a great party!
Whew!
Time for a birthday break.
Next one is Caroline's in January.

Birthday "girl time"!!!

Avery Grace woke up on her birthday and had a hankering for pancakes!
Sooooo.....what the birthday girl wants, the birthday girl gets. ;o)

She also opened up a couple of gifts.
After opening up a Taylor Swift CD, I promptly took it away from her. I told her I was happy that she received the CD, but Beyonce's CD is much better so we should exchange it for that instead. LOL! I kill myself.
Avery had money burning a hole in her pocket, so off we went to spend it.
First stop....the mall.
The crocodile at "The Rainforest Cafe" always captures Avery's attention.
(pretend you don't see her bag of money in a Crown Royal bag... thanks dad.)
After shopping around a little I took Avery to her favorite restaurant for the club panini.
Yum!
We then went to "Sweet and Sassy" to look at a necklace that Avery has been wanting for almost a year.
When the ladies who work there found out it was AG's birthday, they decided to glam her up a bit.
They sprayed her hair with gold glitter.

Then they put pink glitter stars on her cheeks.
I thought that was really sweet and she loved it!

Once home we made Avery's birthday dinner.
She chose steak, wild rice, and corn.

After opening a few more family gifts, we sang happy birthday to her.
Here she is making her wish.

Avery told me she does not know why people have their birthday party on their real birthday.
Why?
Because when you don't, you get 2 special days! ;0)
