Better late than never…right? :)
Yes, I stand before you and admit it.
I am a delinquent. A slacker. Pitiful. Pathetic. Neglectful.
I….am a bad blogger.
I won’t make excuses (though I always have one ;) hee hee ).
Instead, I will forge ahead in my never ending saga of blogging life as I know it…
Here she is. My country girl. All decked out in her cowgirl attire for Western Day at school. A day where she will partake in pony rides, camp fires and roasting hot dogs. One of her favorite days of school.
The joy of being Queen of everything!
Starbucks had a buy one get one free deal going for several days. My poison was a skinny peppermint mocha, Jackson’s was a pumpkin spice. Yummmm!
Dropping off our 4 Operation Christmas Child boxes at church. We LOVE doing this every year. This year we printed the label so we will get to find out what countries our boxes are sent to! Cool!
Avery Grace loves her some egg nog. I thought this brand was so cute. Christmas Milk! Lol. The elves favorite drink. That is just precious.
Of course this just sold me on it. I will always look for Christmas Milk now when purchasing egg nog.
Avery Grace had to make a doll (out of a toilet paper roll) representing a country from her heritage. She chose Spain. Now I know what you are thinking!! You are thinking there is no way that this here little whitey has Spanish in her. You would be correct. Avery is Spanish from Brent’s side. My mother-in-law, Diane, is 100% Spanish. Brent is 50% and of course that makes Avery 25%.
I on the other hand am all northern European decent. English, Dutch, Scots-Irish. Not much of a surprise there.
Here is Nana at her Thanksgiving program.
Eating a feast with her best friend, Alexa.
How she got the nickname “Sniggles”…
I saw this at a nursery and was tickled by the name of the warty pumpkins.
Here are all the kids lined up for their flu shots. Little Caroline was so brave as to volunteer to go first.
The wimp of the bunch was….you guessed it, Savannah. She hid in the bushes outside the doctor’s office and had to be forced inside. I relented and let her get the flu mist even though it was more expensive. She has now said she will never get the shot again and only the mist. I do believe I opened a can of worms with this one. Sigh. And yes, Savannah did indeed dress herself that day.
Guess whose Texas birth certificate recognizing her foreign adoption came in the mail? She looks quite sassy about it too.
My little Texan!
This is what happens when the big girls watch a movie in our bed.
And it eventually ends like this….
After Jackson’s exams, I got delegated to take he and some friends to Chick-fil-a. No problem going. When I came to pick them up, there was an extra five kids or so. Soooooo….
Ahhh, yes. Takes me back to my youth. LOVED hanging out with friends in between exams. Good times. :)
My baby Caroline went to Nene and Granddad's house without siblings for the first time ever. My mom and I met half way (in Arkansas) and did the hand off. The first day or so is always the hardest for me. I worry about them, miss them, second guess my decision to let them go. By day 3 I am dancing in the streets. ;) Our house was so quiet….very weird. Caroline had a blast. Her cousin Graceyn also came and Nene said they got along fabulously. My baby is growing up.
That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means. When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus. Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country.
Romans 6:3-4 Msg
Avery has waited so long to get baptized. Brent and I wanted to make sure she was mature enough and understood exactly what step she was taking before we agreed. We had many talks over several months about accepting Jesus into your heart and into your life. His sacrifice on the cross and what it means to be a Christ follower. She has a deep desire to please God, which I love about her.
I gave Avery this cross charm bracelet to wear while getting baptized.
Brent and Avery backstage waiting for the big moment.
Didn’t you love Caroline’s pep talk in the middle of it! Lol
Here we are right after her baptism helping her change back into her church clothes. She was told to wear black under the white gown, which would explain the Taylor Swift t-shirt at church. ;)
Avery Grace sent a sweet note to her teacher asking if she would come to her baptism. Avery thinks the world of her teacher and was so happy to see she had come. Mrs. Gullickson snuck out of the service to give Avery a big old hug. She had tears in her eyes…so sweet. :)
Here she is with her Grandma and Papa. How happy do they all look?
The whole family before leaving to go get lunch.
Avery chose a burger place called Mooyah’s to eat. Her buddy London cam with us to church to watch Avery get baptized.
Grandma and Papa gave Avery a gift.
Here is the beautiful meaning of it as it relates to Avery’s baptism.
