Our week....

Another week has come and gone.
Busy busy busy.
I admit I have been blogging less than usual.
I am a "picture" blogger and it is a beat down to arrange the photos these days.
I need big blocks of time which I have not had much of lately.

Did you know we have a one toothed bunny in our house?
hee hee

Jackson had to get a check up this week for school.

Unfortunately for him, he also had to get 3 shots.

Meningitis, tetanus and hepatitis.

Ouch!

He took it like a champ, though he was very nervous.

This picture pretty much sums up my week.

Sitting in my closet labeling clothes for consignment.
My twice a year consignment is this weekend and it takes a lot of work to get all the clothes clean, pressed, put on hangers and labeled by size.

Ugh!

Of course, I have to sell clothes to make up for the clothes I buy.

My goal is to break even.

Brent has been struggling with a very sore back.

He was pretty sure it was our mattress.

So we went out and ordered a sleep number bed.

It was delivered this week.
There was only one problem....

It looked (and felt) like we were sleeping on a toddler bed.

It is soooo low to the ground.

Not to worry, hubby has a plan.

Caroline has been in a bit of pain the last couple of days, so I made an impromptu call to the doctor.
Come to find out the girl has strep throat.

Of course, that is not what troubled her the most during her appointment.

One of her ears had so much wax in it that they had to try and dig it out.

When that did not work they put ear wax softener in it and then flushed it out with water.

This also did not work.

The doctor then tried one more time to try to get it out with an instrument.

Caroline freaked out and so she stopped.

Now WE have to put drops in her ears for the next 4 days.
I took this next picture after her ear flushing when she was sopping wet.

I did not realize until later that she was looking in horror at the door anticipating the next procedure.

Poor thing.

I found the light on Nana very pretty and grabbed my camera to see if it would translate to film.
I have said it before, but it is worth mentioning again.

When it comes to photography, lighting is everything.

Turn off the flash and use natural light.

You will be so glad you did.

Jackson is rarely around when my camera is out.

He was this time!

"It puts the shoes in the basket."
This is what I say to the girls so they will put their shoes in their proper place...which happens to be baskets.

My husband found it rather alarming that my 6 year old was using this expression.

Stumped?

How about... "It puts the lotion in the basket."

Silence of the Lambs.

All of my kids say it now.

Creepy, I know.

Okay ya"ll.

I did a little research and bought this product for Caroline.

It is supposed to discourage thumb sucking due to the bad taste.

It is worth a shot, right?

Don't think so?

Let me remind you why I am trying this.

An Orthodontists dream! LOL

I am going to wait and try it when her step throat symptoms have gone away.

She is so funny.

Every night she tells me , "No rock, no thumb."

I am no dummy though. I know she does both the minute I leave the room.

It is not common knowledge, but we have princesses who make us sandwiches in our home.

We are just fancy like that.

He is getting better and better.

Avery Grace started softball practice this week.

Brent says she has great potential.

It is a huge commitment though.

She has 3 practices a week. OY!

We'll see if it measure up to soccer.

Waiting...

After picking up Jackson from school we have about 20 minutes to wait around before AG gets out of school.
I guess we were anxious today because we could not stay still.
First we decided to try to get a picture of Lulu hanging out the sky roof.

This is about as much as we could get her to do. Hmpf.

Then we decided to dress her up a bit.
She is such a good dog.
She pretty much lets us do whatever we want to her.

She did not even try to remove these.

Finally, Avery Grace made her entrance on her scooter.
This was her first day to meet us on the corner.
Before school started we kept talking about where she was to meet us after school.
Tuesday she got nervous and ended up being walked to our car by a teacher.
I felt like I should get the bad mom award.
So yesterday I picked her up at her door and we went through the routine one more time.
Today....the sweet smell of success, as you can see by her expression!

Today was Avery Grace's first day of first grade.

She was sooo wanting me to get the heck out of her room.

A tear or two might have been nice.
